Catching up...Again

So I am at that point where I have realized I should admit it...no more denial! I am so bad at blogging! To make up for it beware, this might be long!

Birthday Parties!

We combined the parties for Brenden and Charlotte and I am in shock that I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old! How did that happen so fast? I know every parent says that, but now I know that they mean it! The party went great. We had a huge bounce house and water slide combo that was a hit. The kids were overly spoiled/loved, and I am thankful for that.

STILL NOT WALKING! This is crazy to me because Brenden was walking so early, but Charlotte has the mind set of "why walk when someone could carry you." I have mixed emotions about this. She is my last baby and so I want her to be a baby, but I am over her wanting to be down everywhere. She needs to walk so that she will stop wiggling so much! She is a wiggle worm right now. She is standing and of course pulling up and cruising around, but not confident in her walking ability yet.
She is around 20 pounds (have not gone to the doctor yet) and is saying mama, dada, bye bye, and no! (of course)
She can wave and clap and a million other fun little faces and actions.

He is crazy as ever. Sports is his favorite thing and he received a big boy bike for his birthday. He got the hang of it in about a day and has not stopped. I feel bad that it is so hot, so I let him ride it in the house. I am sure that I will regret that...but o well. He is happy.

Lee and I...well the family
We purchased a lot in New Braunfels, Texas! It is 1.68 acres 5 minutes from Gruene Hall and I am in love. To bad it will be a year before we build. We have realized that you have to be a millionaire to build a decent home! We are wanting around 2,00o sqft one story with a bonus room above the garage. I am SO ready to build and be in this dream home, but since this is going to be our "forever home" I guess I can be patient and save a little (lot) more money to put down. Even though it is the dream home...it sill not be extravagant...I will not be paying this off for the rest of my life. That sounds like no fun to me!

In the mean time we will be in La Vernia :( God will show us the plan. He has taken us this far.

Here are a few pictures :)

Day 2/21

Today I started out a little behind. Charlotte was up every few hours last night with what I think is a teething problem. The last time (at 3:30) she was wide awake for around an hour then finally went back to sleep. At that time Brenden came climbing into our bed, and we had to do the fight back to his room!

So with that said both kids were finally back asleep around 5 and when the 6 AM alarm went off...I turned it off! I did still complete my devotional, but the whole morning felt rushed and I was behind.

Today's Food Fitness and Faith reading was about partnering with God. It stated, and I know that we have all heard it before, that a healthy life style is a journey and not a destination. This journey is a part a life, and God is a part of my life so it makes sense that the two should be joined together.

I have spent countless hours, being upset, mad, and confused about why I developed diabetes. I have been relatively healthy in my life, and never crazy over weight. So when the diagnosis came, and it was in a completely awful way (but that is another story), I was heartbroken! Why Me!

The truth is God only knows why, and I am here to live the best way that I can with the help of Him.

Day 2 with food was fine again. I did feel more hungry today, but not unsatisfied with the foods that I ate.
Breakfast - Banana and blueberries
Lunch - Salad with lime juice dressing and lots of veggies
Dinner - Avocado, Fish, and spinach
Snacks - Fresh carrots, and fruit

Stay tuned! Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I will really need the strength then!

Day 1/21

I am starting a new adventure today! I am devoting 21 days to a cleanse of body and soul! Every morning I will be waking up at 6:00 AM (ouch) and completing a daily Food, Faith, and Fitness devotional. At night I have an additional devotional with Joel Osteen. I am also going all natural with my foods. Fruits, Vegetables, and Fish!

My reasons for this vary. Lee and I are going through changes in our life with money, time, and we are thinking about a location change in the next year (still in the San Antonio area). I have been thinking so much about these BIG things in our lives and realized that I need to be trusting more in God than making my own plans. My daily devotionals are focusing on inputting God into my daily plans, and setting goals with him.

God also wants us to keep our bodies healthy! I am focusing on the clean foods to break any bad habits that I have formed! I developed Type 1 diabetes when I was pregnant with Brenden in 2005, and since then I have struggled with my weight, my blood sugars, and keeping my diet under control. When I added baby number 2 to the mix my weight and body became more unhealthy. I have to get back to being healthy! I pray that my children never develop this disease, so my part of that is to teach them how to eat healthy and stay fit. I also want to be a good example for them in case they do develop diabetes; they have me as an example of how to live a healthy with it!

So here it goes....21 days on clean foods, and daily devotionals. Please keep me in your prayers to remain strong in my promise to myself and to God.

Starting Again!

I know it has been a long time since I last posted! I am pretty sure it was when I found out we were having a girl.... That girl is now 4 months old. However I finally downloaded the app that allows me to update my blog from my phone!

So updates-
Brenden was in his first play last night as a member of the angel choir. When Charlotte started crying lee had to take her out. Brenden noticed that lee was gone and very loudly shouted "where daddy!!!! Mommy, where daddy!!" other than that it went great. He was very cute. A star was born.

Charlotte is starting to be mainly a formula baby. All the travel the last month has made my milk supply decrease and I really don't think that nursing should be this stressful so I am starting to just pump and give her bottles with some formula and breast milk. She seems ok with it :)

She defiantly has the smith head!! At her four month check up she was in the 17th percentile for height, the 55th for weight, and the 93rd for head circumference. Good thing she has all that hair to cover it up.

This weekend we are going to Conroe for Christmas with the Cates family. In the car now with two kids and a dog.

Wish us luck :)

Life Updates

This Smith family is very busy. We have discovered that we are expecting a little GIRL in July, Lee has taken a new job in San Antonio, and our house in on the market! The next few months are going to be crazy and hopefully fly by. Lee starts the job on March 21st and is going to be traveling back and forth between Dallas and San Antonio since I will be finishing the school year in Dallas. We are hoping to sell our house soon, and maybe rent a house in south Texas. I am not familiar with the area at all, and we are not sure where we want to live (even though I have found a few houses that I really like) so renting might be the best idea.

So in short. Living with Lee only on the weekends for the next few months, growing daily with a little girl, moving in June, and baby girl in July.

Brenden Update!

He is changing and learning everyday! He has started a new school in McKinney that we love. He is singing songs every day (his favorites are Row your boat, and itsy spider) and the biggest deal is that he is sleeping in his new big boy bed with out a paci!!!

He is a complete copy cat which makes us think twice about whatever we do. Especially Lee. If Daddy does it Brenden does it.

This week was spring break. Lee was in between the two jobs and was able to spend a few days with us. Tuesday we went to the Dallas World Aquarium and then lunch at a park in Allen. We all had a great time!

Smith Family Update

It has been a crazy few weeks, and now that Christmas is starting it is going to be even more so. This last weekend we went to the Texas A&M game and my parents watched Brenden. I think that they were happy to see him, but also very tired when he left :) Sunday we spent at my parents and had a great Thanksgiving lunch. It was great to see everyone!

This week I had to work on Monday and Tuesday but off the rest of the week. Lee is off Thursday and Friday. The only plans for sure are going to the Dickens of a Christmas in downtown McKinney. It is a fun weekend and a great way to start the season.

Brenden is getting so big it is hard to tell you all the new words and funny things that he does. I hope you enjoy a few recent pictures.

Aggie Beat Baylor! The boys were excited!!

Trick or Treat

Friday afternoon we went to downtown McKinney for their Scare on the Square.
Brenden had a great time with his friend Jackson. We walked around, had a sucker, and looked at all the great costumes.

MMMMMMM!! A great sucker again!

A back view of superman.

Some of Brenden's new things:
-Says Thank you, uh-oh, help, and milk, mine, and eat in sign language.
-He races himself. He stands back against the wall and says "Go Go Go!" then runs to the other side of the room.
-He of course still climbs on EVERYTHING!!
-He jumps, sings, and dances
-I guess we have been watching lots of baseball because he likes to use his golf clubs as a baseball bat now. :)
