Catching up...Again

So I am at that point where I have realized I should admit it...no more denial! I am so bad at blogging! To make up for it beware, this might be long!

Birthday Parties!

We combined the parties for Brenden and Charlotte and I am in shock that I have a 1 year old and a 3 year old! How did that happen so fast? I know every parent says that, but now I know that they mean it! The party went great. We had a huge bounce house and water slide combo that was a hit. The kids were overly spoiled/loved, and I am thankful for that.

STILL NOT WALKING! This is crazy to me because Brenden was walking so early, but Charlotte has the mind set of "why walk when someone could carry you." I have mixed emotions about this. She is my last baby and so I want her to be a baby, but I am over her wanting to be down everywhere. She needs to walk so that she will stop wiggling so much! She is a wiggle worm right now. She is standing and of course pulling up and cruising around, but not confident in her walking ability yet.
She is around 20 pounds (have not gone to the doctor yet) and is saying mama, dada, bye bye, and no! (of course)
She can wave and clap and a million other fun little faces and actions.

He is crazy as ever. Sports is his favorite thing and he received a big boy bike for his birthday. He got the hang of it in about a day and has not stopped. I feel bad that it is so hot, so I let him ride it in the house. I am sure that I will regret that...but o well. He is happy.

Lee and I...well the family
We purchased a lot in New Braunfels, Texas! It is 1.68 acres 5 minutes from Gruene Hall and I am in love. To bad it will be a year before we build. We have realized that you have to be a millionaire to build a decent home! We are wanting around 2,00o sqft one story with a bonus room above the garage. I am SO ready to build and be in this dream home, but since this is going to be our "forever home" I guess I can be patient and save a little (lot) more money to put down. Even though it is the dream home...it sill not be extravagant...I will not be paying this off for the rest of my life. That sounds like no fun to me!

In the mean time we will be in La Vernia :( God will show us the plan. He has taken us this far.

Here are a few pictures :)

Day 2/21

Today I started out a little behind. Charlotte was up every few hours last night with what I think is a teething problem. The last time (at 3:30) she was wide awake for around an hour then finally went back to sleep. At that time Brenden came climbing into our bed, and we had to do the fight back to his room!

So with that said both kids were finally back asleep around 5 and when the 6 AM alarm went off...I turned it off! I did still complete my devotional, but the whole morning felt rushed and I was behind.

Today's Food Fitness and Faith reading was about partnering with God. It stated, and I know that we have all heard it before, that a healthy life style is a journey and not a destination. This journey is a part a life, and God is a part of my life so it makes sense that the two should be joined together.

I have spent countless hours, being upset, mad, and confused about why I developed diabetes. I have been relatively healthy in my life, and never crazy over weight. So when the diagnosis came, and it was in a completely awful way (but that is another story), I was heartbroken! Why Me!

The truth is God only knows why, and I am here to live the best way that I can with the help of Him.

Day 2 with food was fine again. I did feel more hungry today, but not unsatisfied with the foods that I ate.
Breakfast - Banana and blueberries
Lunch - Salad with lime juice dressing and lots of veggies
Dinner - Avocado, Fish, and spinach
Snacks - Fresh carrots, and fruit

Stay tuned! Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I will really need the strength then!

Day 1/21

I am starting a new adventure today! I am devoting 21 days to a cleanse of body and soul! Every morning I will be waking up at 6:00 AM (ouch) and completing a daily Food, Faith, and Fitness devotional. At night I have an additional devotional with Joel Osteen. I am also going all natural with my foods. Fruits, Vegetables, and Fish!

My reasons for this vary. Lee and I are going through changes in our life with money, time, and we are thinking about a location change in the next year (still in the San Antonio area). I have been thinking so much about these BIG things in our lives and realized that I need to be trusting more in God than making my own plans. My daily devotionals are focusing on inputting God into my daily plans, and setting goals with him.

God also wants us to keep our bodies healthy! I am focusing on the clean foods to break any bad habits that I have formed! I developed Type 1 diabetes when I was pregnant with Brenden in 2005, and since then I have struggled with my weight, my blood sugars, and keeping my diet under control. When I added baby number 2 to the mix my weight and body became more unhealthy. I have to get back to being healthy! I pray that my children never develop this disease, so my part of that is to teach them how to eat healthy and stay fit. I also want to be a good example for them in case they do develop diabetes; they have me as an example of how to live a healthy with it!

So here it goes....21 days on clean foods, and daily devotionals. Please keep me in your prayers to remain strong in my promise to myself and to God.
